Juan Antonio Govea

Juan Antonio Govea leads resource organizing efforts supporting GRIPs work cultivating personal and systemic change to advance a more just and compassionate legal system. His work is grounded in a deep commitment to shifting narratives around accountability, healing, and second chances.

A lifelong community organizer, Juan’s has worked as a high school teacher, museum director, and as a resource organizer at the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and UnCommon Law. Across each role, he has focused on addressing systemic inequities through organizing, the democratization of data, narrative strategy, and community-building.

While not working on legal system reform, Juan is found looking for birds in local parks or distant mountains.
