Toni Zamorano

Toni Zamorano was first introduced to GRIP in 2016 when she was invited to attend one of the graduations at Avenal State Prison where she has worked as a Mental Health Clinician since 2013. Toni began her career in the field of social work approximately twenty-five years ago or by 1997 after graduating with her BA in Sociology, thereafter, earned an MSW Degree and later became an LCSW. Toni has worked for various community-based programs over the years with focus on intervention, prevention, advocacy, and resource services in education, supporting foster youth and families, as an adjunct instructor and counselor at a community college, mental health therapist at a juvenile detention facility in a substance abuse program and in past decade with incarcerated persons in prison. Toni began volunteering time with GRIP in 2021 and since that time has been co-facilitating groups at ASP, inspired and moved by the people she has met along the way and by the transformational learning and healing process she has experienced and been a witness to throughout her life’s journey.
