Fateen Jackson
Fateen Jackson is a Long Beach native now living in Northern California. He first joined the GRIP program at San Quentin in 2013 and, after graduating, went on to facilitate nine additional groups, demonstrating his deep commitment to transformation and healing.
In 2016, Fateen delivered a powerful TEDx talk at San Quentin, titled “The Apologetic Salute,” a spoken word piece honoring those who have experienced violence.
He was released in 2019 after receiving a commutation from former Governor Jerry Brown. Today, Fateen serves as Facilitator Training Manager and Senior Facilitator for GRIP at the California Medical Facility (CMF) in Vacaville. In addition to leading groups, he supports staff at multiple facilities and plays a key role in GRIP’s media and public engagement efforts.
