Dan spent his professional career primarily in the investment business, first in investment banking and subsequently as an analyst, portfolio manager, and partner at Crosslink Capital, a hedge fund and venture capital firm in San Francisco   After leaving the investment business, he also taught Economics at the high school level for six years.  

Dan serves or has served on several non-profit boards, including; Ernest Becker Foundation (treasurer); Sun Valley Music Festival; Coral Reef Alliance (past – treasurer); and the National Council for History Education (past – treasurer).
